Let me introduce myself

Most recent and proud ventures include:

  • Founding "Positive Vibes" back in 2013, a choir made up of wonderful people all giving their time and support freely in helping me raise awareness of Parkinson's. Presently we are taking time out singing but we WILL be back.

  • I also was accepted as a volunteer educator for Parkinson's UK which entailed teaching care staff.

  • Being part of a ground-breaking trial, which is the subject of a BBC doc to be screened later 2017. Second documentary I'm proud to be part of; the first being "Sex, Lies and Parkinson's" screened in 2010

  • Being a published author with articles published in the excellent Parkinson's movement magazine.

The past 13 years have been tough and many lessons learnt:

  • Understanding the importance of self-care when living with PD paramount .

  • Developing my love of upcycling anything and crafting, especially from recycled materials and sometimes I can even make a bob or two!

  • Buying a mobile vintage tearoom to run as a small business

Work remains in the pipeline of my dream, around my crafting and caravan I dream of having an holistic retreat with a diverse collaboration of therapists. This is slow to progress but hey, Rome was not built in a day!

Walt Disney hit nail on the head when he said, "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."

Living and loving life with my Parkinson's

Motivated, forward thinking, go getter, passionate, effecting change.

Diagnosed in 2007, aged just 35, with young onset Parkinson's disease I have changed my life by embracing new challenges. Turning negativity in positivity whenever possible.

An advocate for people living with Parkinson's I am passionate in raising awareness, educating and empowering.

I am extremely fortunate to be one patient on a ground breaking drugs trial undergoing brain surgery in 2013 to enable monthly infusions directly to the heart of the matter - my brain.

I do believe one day I shall say, "I had Parkinson's."
